I'm looking for hardcore gyms that have 24 hour access. I've done some Google searching and I know there are plenty that exist, problem is they are either in big cities (I'm looking to move to a small(ish) town), or they are in locations I don't want to move to (east coast, Midwest). I'm on the west coast and don't want to move cross country. Farthest I may consider moving is central Texas (as long as I'm not in Austin).

Any hidden gems of a gym out there for people who actually lift weights?

To be clear, you're looking for a gym in a place you'd like to move to altogether?

I have no specific places to suggest but I had a friend who was a bodybuilder and in exchange for him doing some simple errands around the gym he was given 24 hr access with keys. It was a small gym owned by one guy, not a chain.

I am sure you must have some idea of where you are moving to. Why not search the area in question?

You would be incorrect.

Which 'hardcore gym' is the OP referring to?

The only 'major' gyms with chains across the U.S. that are open 24 hours are those like 24 hour fitness and Planet Fitness. And I wouldn't exactly consider those hardcore like some powerlifting type gyms with roid monsters in them.

Even those types of hardcore gyms aren't usually open 24 hours.

So you are looking for a 'hardcore' gym that is open 24 hours and then you are going to move to whatever town it is in?

So the main rationale for you to move to a city is if it has "hardcore 24hr gyms"? Boy do you have your priorities in order.

Oh well I suggest moving to Bismark, North Dakota for their 24 hour gym called Bob's Gym. Tell Bob I sent you.

Anytime Fitness is open to cardholders (members) 24/7. They have free weights & machines and they are a chain open in many cities.
