A new study published in the European Heart Journal Monday finds that being overweight increases your risk of coronary heart disease, even if you are otherwise considered healthy, destabilizing the common conception that someone can be "fat but fit."
I don't know. I have heard the "fat but fit" term refer to people who have both healthy blood work, eat healthfully and exercise regularly. So it seems like we need more info about lifestyle to make a determination.
Obese people tend to be ones who don't exercise. People who don't exercise have more heart attacks. Is it the obesity or the lack of exercise?

You mean for the heavyweight powerlifters. You do realize there are weight classes right?
Most "powerlifters" I know are just guys on perma-bulk diets who pride themselves on benching/squatting/deading as much as possible.
