I have bad arthritis in my entire body.i also was a gym rat however 7 months ago I quit going to the gym completely.the pain in my knees is intense and I walk with a bad limp now.recently I came across some bands that get strapped into your arms and legs like a tourniquet .the idea is that with these straps applied that I can rep up to 30 percent of my 1RM and I can still build muscle and mass.i have lost all gains being out the gym for months and I need muscle growth to combat the arthritis but lifting heavy is not any option any longer.does anyone have experience with these bands?
I have no experience with blood flow restriction bands but I would suggest getting the opinion of a physical therapist about using them. Restricting the flow of blood while exercising to get a bigger pump doesn't seem like a very good idea to me.
