Don't laugh at me Sometimes at work I get grocery store carts for one or two hours out of the parking lot and have to push five or so of them at once. I also then have to spin them around....over and over. I know there is some cardio and I can totally feel my butt working. What kind of workout does anybody feel like I am getting? I normally do more weights at home along with my yoga, but, I love the fact that I am working out at work and GETTING PAID!!!! Any thoughts though on how good I am working my legs and abs????

Ahhh! Memories! I think my record number of pushing carts was 25 with a guy in the front steering. But rules changed and you couldn't push more than 8 and now they have those machines that push carts. But yeah, you definitely work your legs. I only liked pushing carts in the cool or cold weather, I hated it in summer.

Pushing carts is a good calorie burner. Somewhere between a brisk walk and jogging depending on how hard you work it. The only way to accurately count the calories would be to borrow a heart rate monitor. Not worth it to me.

Try googling "calories burned exercise". You will find a lot of calorie burning sites. I didn't see anything specific to pushing carts, but for my weight, pushing a lawn mower is 316 calories per hour. At least according to one site. You might want to check several sites and take an average or guesstimate it.
