Been living in Northern Mi. for over 40 years and the economy has finally made me decide to look for a new home and job. I have been looking at driving jobs on the haul road. It seems thats where the good money driving jobs are. I have a great driving record with all the endorsments. We get well over 150 inches of snow here with very hilly terrain. Our winter temps can get as low as -30 or alittle more for long periods of time but not always. I have a wife and a 11 year old daughter so schools are very important. I think I would prefer renting a house before buying but I have a dog. Any and all help would be appreciated.

I'm not a pro on truck driving jobs, but I just talked to a guy moving up from Oklahoma with about 40 years trucking experience. He told me that he was offered a couple jobs just while he was here visiting his family.

I always hear that the North Slope haulers (Carlyle, Lynden, etc.) are continuously looking for (good) drivers but, as with anything else in life I suppose you have to be willing to start at the bottom of the totem pole all over again. And I would suspect the situation is even harder now with the economy and all of the recent publicity the Haul Road seems to be getting on TV these days.
