I have this one black dress that I'm going to where to a formal dinner.
I'm not really sure though what to where with it because it's pretty boring and unflattering. I'm very lost. formal dress is not my strongest field...just some advice on possible accessories and shoes to where.

HELP PLEASE!

this is the dress:

It's not boring, and it doesn't appear to be solid black (in fact, it doesn't look formal at all).

A metallic wide belt could be cute, but tricky to position with those ruffles. If you could head over to a tailor, and take in the waist a bit or add some darts to give you some shape at the waist. And wear some statement jewelry and sparkly shoes.
