After not getting calls for female modeling jobs, she decides to become a male model...interesting.

Lady looks like a dude: Female model goes male to get more jobs

Since those that dominate the fashion industry are drawn to androgyny, boyish looking females (no hips, broad shoulders, strong facial bone structures, angular features for photography, etc..), and 'living mannequins' to display their wares, it is not so much a surprise that a female with (likely) those traits decides to try modeling as a boy/man. It is one of the most shallow and narcissistic of industries by nature.

Can't tell her body type from the little seen in the photos, but I gather with a good diet and healthy work out regimen (swimming to give her soft muscle tissue to complement her frame, squats to give her some shapely glutes etc...) she'd be desirable to the majority of men visually, but this is entirely different than being an androgynous looking female with strong male physical characteristics that functions as a living mannequin.

You really think so? I would bet that most young men who saw ONLY the first photo would find her attractive. Putting the second photo next to the first biases opinions (e.g. if you're a young straight man you'll likely not want to admit finding her attractive if she can also look very masculine).

I think she's a lot prettier than many of the supermodels, so I can't see why she'd be in such less demand.

Not impressed with her as a guy model. She looks like a girl with cropped hair.

Yes.
She doesn't have sparkle, she doesn't have "presence," she doesn't have interesting enough personality, and it shows in her pictures. She looks pretty bland to me.
It takes more than just purely physical characteristics to be a good model.
So I am not surprised to hear that she was not in demand, (or at least not for long. )

According to the article, she was having trouble finding modeling jobs once she turned 30. Male models don't have to look as young, so she felt she had more time.

I didn't really think that any models planned to model forever...shouldn't there be something to fall back on?

Elliott is an odd name for a girl, lol...but anyway I think she looks good as either, except her eyebrows are rather weird as a 'male.' I actually think her features are somewhat masculine, not extremely so, but she doesn't have a soft, round, very feminine face. I'd say she's a 'handsome' woman but also with a strong kind of beauty. While she still looks like a woman as a 'man' she actually pulls it off kind of well. Some women who dress like men look really boyish not like men at all. Either way, I think her body shape as well could pass - although of course she can't really do shirtless and she probably needs to build a bit of muscle.

I think models are paid absurd amounts of money though (most celebs in general are) - $42 million a year for Giselle Bundchen? It's the closest thing to just being a celebrity for no reason. I'm not saying it might not be hard work, but as the above poster says it seems very narcissistic and image driven.
