I think when applied correctly most women look better with makeup. Applied incorrectly and they look a mess, oftentimes older than they really are.
I look okay without makeup and have been told I don't need it. The only time I personally really like how I look without it is first thing in the morning (not sure what it is but something sexy about it). Other than that, I prefer myself with a little makeup.
I don't wear makeup when I am at home (without company). My DH still says that I am beautiful even all these years after we me (almost 30 years ago). I do have permanent eyeliner and I think that it enhances my eyes without having to do anything.
I do apply makeup when I leave the house, but it is light. When I lost my sight and went to "blind school" they asked what I wanted to learn to do. So, along with light housekeeping, braille and getting around without maiming someone - I asked about makeup. They said it was a first, but that they would offer makeup classes for anyone who wanted to re-learn. My DH does have to inspect my face before we leave the house because, well, I AM blind!
