Something I've noticed recently is that people seem to be dressing up a bit more at bars. I understand this may be the norm in big cities, but it seems to be happening in rural areas nowadays. This past summer I was in my small hometown for the 4th of July and it seemed like people of all ages were more dressed up at the bar whereas in previous years shorts and t-shirts seemed to be the norm. I've noticed it other summers as well but it seemed more "formal" this summer. Did I miss a new fashion trend?

Not happening in my metro. I'd be excited if I saw people dressed up at the bar!

By dressed up I mean collared shirts and jeans for men (even in 100 degree July weather) and sun dresses for women. More dressed up than things like shorts and t-shirts.

I live in a big so I may be biased, but I think people should dress up at least a little at bars. Collard shirts for men and dresses for women are nice.

A crop top and jeans looks hot on girls. Perfect outfit for a sports bar, especially for the tall & toned body types. Nothing hotter than a hot fit chic dancing in a bar showing off those abs.

Anything over casual is not for me, nothing wrong with tshirts or the like for any event.

I prefer to dress up vs tshirt and jeans. If I'm out any night of the week, I dress up. T short and jeans is saved for when I am home working in the yard or on the car, but if my g/f wants to go grab a bite to eat, I shower and throw on a collared shirt or other nice shirt

As long as the ladies have heels on, I am pretty much pleased, but a short skirt/dress is a plus! Actually seeing more of that locally in Pgh lately.

Think hoodies, t-shirts and jeans for the men (even at bars with pricy cocktails. And jeans/leggings and a nice-ish top for women. That is standard attire around here.

For years I always wore things like a t-shirt and shorts in the summer or in the winter a sweatshirt or sweater and jeans. I just never thought of most bars as being that formal. It just seems the last few years I've seen people dress up a bit more when they go out. Interesting to see the different thoughts.
