Say you are a fashionable 20-something woman. You already have a pair of classic tall UGGs that are 4 or so years old that you still wear. If someone were going to give you another pair for Christmas, what would you want? A new pair of tall? A pair of classic short? One of the other styles? You would be wearing them mostly with leggings or jeans.

I personally love the cardy style ones, but I don't know if that would be the top choice for a younger person. I also don't know if you can wash the sweater-type part. Seems like they'd get dirty.

They may be warm, but they are UGG-ly. Buy a cheap, off-brand pair that is still warm and doesn't require you to pay hundreds of dollars just for a tiny label in the back of the shoe.

A fashionable 20-something would not wear UGGS.

I have some knock-offs that I wear to the hockey rink to keep my feet warm.

I'm not sure I'd spend full price on UGG's...however these are not bad looking:

I have a pair of talls and I want some black shorts. They go with everything and they are warm. Stylish? Not so much but neither is frostbite.
