You might take a look at a down blazer, as well. I do not know the price point that you seek, but Moncler, Ralph Lauren, and Lands End offer jackets in this style, with a couple of others that are between LE and Moncler in price. LE is synthetic, though, not as warm as the down that is used in the Moncler and RL, so you would need to add a layer with a wool sweater. RL also has a similar look with a poly fill, at about half the price of the down filled, but it will not be as warm on its own.
I agree that a pea coat can be a good jacket for some, and while I have one, I tend to go more for the duffle/duffel/toggle coat. You can find them at various price points as well, from about $100 at UNIGLO to $1,000+, depending upon the manufacturer and materials used. I have a couple, ranging from a shorter jacket to very long, and I find them to be versatile because I do not like to wear a pea coat open, yet sometimes am overheated to the point where I want the coat open, but not off. It works well for that situation, IMO.

I just picked up a Dri Duck Maverick (tobacco) and a their flannel shirt (rope)to wear underneath. Love it so far, actually had to take the flannel out and just wear the jacket in today's 35 degree temps.
It's a bit hard to answer because you haven't given us much information about what you're interested in. I wouldn't ordinarily consider Carhartt clothing to be "stylish", although the look suits plenty of people here in Vermont just fine. By the same token, I don't think Carhartt offers anything for extreme cold, but your definition of extreme cold may be different from someone who really lives in the north.
Assuming you are looking for a dress coat that is also warm, I like the duffle coat suggestion, even though duffle coats are considered casual wear. One place you might look is Seattle Trading Post, which offers good deals and service on a variety of items. Here's the link to their winter dress coat selection: Men's Dress Coats up to 70% off at Sierra Trading Post - pg 2
I've bought Filson on-line for a fraction of the new prices.
As well, have 40-year old hand-me-downs from my Dad that still look good in their styling and perform very well in cold weather.
