Read this article. What stupidity is it to think that your school is a beach and you can dress up in such scant clothing. I would like the board to stay strong and rigid with their decision. It's the right call.

Toronto student organizes ‘crop top day’ to protest school dress code | Globalnews.ca

Teachers have every right to not allow clothing which are deemed distracting.

Its Canada. I say, let them wear what they want. Its not very often they can wear anything less than Eskimo clothing.

I don't disagree with having a school dress code, but the issue that's being protested is that the dress code seems to come down more heavily on policing what female students wear in order to protect the "innocent" eyes of male students. Teenage guys are notorious horndogs, and could get distracted just as easily by a girl in jeans and a t-shirt as a tank top and shorts.

Agreed, and it's probably a good idea to send the message to the guys that distracted or not, they're responsible for what they say or do.

Sorry, I disagree with this. Not all teenage guys act this way. Most don't really mind. Yes, we may pass comments in after school, but thats freedom of speech. The few that are jackasses can be punished.

I for a fact know that most parents are not comfortable with sending their daughters dressed up with midriffs exposed.

Plus, the bigger concern for me is pedophiles rather than some random teenage boys, and teenage girls easily get tricked by these fiends.

i think some of those ladies are confusing crop tops with sport bras and shelf bras. I didnt see many actual crop tops in that video.

What you can wear at other public places, you can wear at school too.

Every "public place" has different requirements in terms of dressing up. As adults, these girls should be taught that.

I'll admit to being conservative, but showing midriffs in school outside the pool and track is just wrong.
