I watched this last night, and they showed a retrospective of last season... the women being picked for this show are all wearing heavy expressional makeup, cartoonish or clowny or stagey.... and they are forced to remove it with this pull out wipes -- and ditch their clothing and go out to shop in plain grey sweats.
It's an interesting show, and I while I enjoy Stacey London -- why does everyone have to wear HEELS, it's not very instructional.... anyhow....
After all the makeup is off, ALL of the women's skin look AWFUL... like it's inflamed and irritated. And it seems to stay that way. Especially around the eyes and mouth (I'm guessing the scrubbing off of mascara and lipstick?)
I wear waterproof mascara and I use a makeup remover on a cotton pad. I dampen the pad and hold it to my lashes.....count to 30, and wipe gently (I have to scrub my lashes anyway because I have blepharitis), and then wash my face.... and my face looks like my face, not like it's been sandblasted.
If I were a manufacturer of those wipes, I think I'd be doing damage control because watching this show? That's one product I will never ever buy -- EVER.
....and it's funny because I am actually watching that episode right now. The second girl they showed on the episode, they just showed a close up of her when she is talking to Stacey before removing the make-up and her skin is not healthy to begin with.
Maybe the reason the women wear heavy make-up is because their skin is ruddy, acne-prone, etc. It may not be the wipes at all.
Ding ding ding. I rarely wear a full face of makeup - only for special occasions. I love makeup, but I value sleeping in an extra half hour than doing a full face for work. My skin always looks like these women even though I don't use makeup remover wipes and, in fact, have a dedicated skincare regime meant to deal with redness and irritation.
When I wear makeup, I look different mostly because my skin does not detract from my other features.
I use regular baby wipes to remove my makeup then I wash it and proceed with my Clarisonic...my skin can get really irritated and red if I press TOO hard with the wipes, is that it maybe?
