Petite Top, are they important?

I know I need to buy petite top because rest of it looks funky on me. Yet everytime I am shopping I find myself browsing regular section because they have bigger selection to some store not even having petite section inhouse. This results in me buying regular top. I then promise myself never to do this and take the extra effort of ordering extra online and returning 90% of my order but again I forget all the rules and buy normal length tops hoping magically I can pull it off

I like the petite top because it is beautiful. Now, there are special sizes, tall, petite, otherwise it is very difficult to shop. I used to shop from Columbia clothing.
