I never let my bra show. If I'm wearing a white shirt, I make sure it isn't see through. If I even think it's on the border, I wear a sweater or something over it. I find almost every shirt for women at Old Navy to be too thin.
Is it tacky for your bra to kind of show when you wear a white top/blouse? What I mean is the shirt is light in color and slightly fitted so you can see in the indentations of the bra straps/band on your back, and of course the bra is a conservative color/beige.
Your shirt is too small, or the bra is. You should not seen "indentations".
The tradition is wearing a cotton teddy over your bra. I have heard that foam round-cupped bras are great for this use too.
I think you are going to worry about "showing" all day when you wear it despite whether you find a solution to the "indentations".
If you are not going to be comfortable wearing it for whatever reason then it could make some sense returning it to the store to exchange with something that camouflages the areas you worry about.
