I have prescription and must wear glasses. If I make up, I wear contact. But I wanna find a way to make me look attractive even wearing glasses. Been tried some other frames but didn`t satisfied.
Anybody recommend some fashion glasses to me? Better with pics, thanks!

I like Zenni optical. You can upload your own picture and then "try on" various frames with your face. Plus, they are very affordable.

I second Zenni. Nice glasses at reasonable prices.

Thanks, seems very cheap but with lenses a little bit expensive.
Is there any sales events for them?

I don't get my glasses anywhere but Zenni, anymore.

From brick-and-mortar retailers, my lenses alone are over $200. Add frames from the same retailers that are even just a step up from the utilitarian goggle models, and my glasses are $400, easy, thanks to a prescription that requires high index lenses.

From Zenni, I can get a full pair of glasses for under $70.

I've worn glasses for 21 years. The last time I wore my contacts was at my wedding two years ago. I really always wear my glasses.

You can sign up for newsletter and get a 10% off code.

If you think they are expensive, you haven't bought glasses lately.

I use Zenni too.

I hate having to wear glasses, ESPECIALLY since the nerdy look came in maybe, I don't know...eight-ish years ago? I think?

Before that I had small rectangular black metal frames that I LOVED...they were PERFECT FOR ME.

Then this GIANT GLASSES trend came in with GIANT BLACK frames...I tried that...now have black frames 31mm high at the center of the frame...I hate hate hate hate hate them...need a minimum height due to progressives but have just ordered a top frames-only pair from Zenni. I don't CARE any more that I won't look as "cool" and that it's a more "mature" look, I hate...hate...Did I mention hate this giant ridiculous huge thick black glasses look?

So over it. I couldn't believe it and nearly fell off my chair when black hipsters got even bigger and became like half the size of the person's face...that's not even 80s, it's more like 70s...am not going there...period.

I wish little glasses would come back in style.

Rant over, LOL. There are worse things. I could be blind. Or unable to walk. In the grand scheme, having to wear glasses (am unable to wear contacts...any type) isn't such a big thing but I do feel chained to them as I can not get out of bed without pulling them on...and I mean that literally. Oh well...

Seriously, I don't even know how you could go cheaper than this. I wear progressives. Through the eye doctor my last pair was $675. With insurance, $420. At Zenni, same prescription, progressives...$95 including shipping.

Non-progressives just for computer - so in other words, single-vision lens: $24. Shipped.

I can't even imagine where or how on earth one could get a pair of glasses much cheaper than that.

I agree on Zenni. Just after Thanksgiving, they had a promotion that lasted around a week where if you bought two, you get the 3rd pair free. And, if you sign up with the website, you'll get updates to include any discounts, rare though, and what new glasses have came in.

I agree about price. There better frames, with thin lenses and progressive, non-glare was under $100.00.

I'm an optician, and I advise against buying glasses online. Glasses are a custom, prescription item. Unless you wear over the counter readers, they are a medication for your eyes. I can't tell you how many patients have come into my office wanting new glasses after buying glasses unsuccessfully online or from cheap opticals such as America's Best. With glasses, as with many other things, you get what you pay for. Even if you don't notice a difference in fit with online glasses, the optical quality of the lenses is not as good as glasses purchased in better opticals, so the visual experience isn't as smooth.

Glasses are expensive. I totally get that. But there are a few ways around it. You can buy less expensive frames, as most of them come with a one year warranty. You can save money overall by buying vision insurance through your employer and socking away a little each month so you pay much less up front when the time comes to replace them. You can get fewer, cheaper, or no coatings, or get plain plastic, Trivex, or polycarbonate lenses instead of the more expensive hi-index. And if you get a full frame instead of a grooved rimless or drill mount, you will save money because there is an additional charge for those special mountings and the required materials to make those glasses.

Oh, and even if you don't have a separate vision plan, your medical insurance will pay for an eye exam if you get it through an ophthalmologist, an eye MD. Many people are not aware of this and pay for an eye exam out of pocket through an optometrist, who is not a medical doctor, thus is not covered on their medical insurance. That will give you another $100+ to buy the glasses themselves. And if you are one of the lucky ones to have recently had cataract surgery, Medicare will pay for a pair of glasses for you. Unfortunately, that is the only time they will pay for them, but you get that freebie at least.

Lastly, if you do wear contacts, buying them online will save you a bundle over buying them from the eye doctor, and you don't have to sacrifice quality. The reason it's better to buy contacts online and not glasses is because the different contact brands are mass produced and shipped to buyers and sellers from the same companies so the quality control is the same, thus you get the same product even when you buy online. I hope that helped!

^^ I've heard the above advice numerous times (always, it seems, from people whose livelihood hinges upon selling glasses), and if I started actually having problems with the glasses I order online, I'd probably be more inclined to heed it, but thus far, I've experienced absolutely zero problems in quality or effectiveness. And my glasses are an appendage, I cannot function without them with any degree of mobility, so it's not like I don't take them working effectively seriously, or I wear them so infrequently that it just doesn't come up. At the point at which Zenni's glasses become problematic in some way for me, I'll revisit my options, but that's simply not been the case.
