If you're wearing the shoes for a long time every day, they're more likely to stink. If you're not wearing socks with your flats or loafers and you're only wearing them for a few hours every now and then, they're not going to stink unless you have a foot problem.
I don't wear clogs, period, but I don't wear socks if I can possibly avoid it. I mostly wear sandals when it's warm enough to do so, but I also wear slip-ons, the moccasin variety and other styles, without socks, weather permitting. I don't happen to have really sweaty feet, and have never had any problem with shoe or foot odor.
how do you walk in clogs while wearing socks? i've never had a problem with foot odor.
I'm trying to figure out why wearing socks would create a problem walking in clogs. I wear socks with mine. Nothing too thick, but I do wear socks. I never would have considered not wearing socks with them.
You should make sure you only wear knee high white athletic socks with clogs. And shorts.
Classy!
(disclaimer: I do not wear clogs.)
Running shoes only in the winter, and athletic sandals or flip flops only in the summer. I do always wear socks with running shoes, but never (never!) with sandals or flip flops.
Wool clogs like this were popular when I was in college in the mid 1990s, along with Birkenstock-style sandals, and both were typically worn with thick, woollen rag socks because we were a bunch of dirty hippie kids.
Other than that, can't say I've seen the socks-and-clogs or socks-and-sandals thing.
