"Don't Go To The Cosmetics Counter Without Me." by Paula Begoun. She calls herself the Cosmetics Cop. She really seems to know her stuff. It's over 1,100 pages of reviews of cosmetics sold by various companies; how many are insanely overpriced, make claims the product can't live up to, and can actually make your skin worse.There's also a glossary of cosmetics ingredients - what they are, and what they do.

Water based only for foundation, non pefumed with the least amounts of chemicals..Try looking at Greener Penny.. never tried the stuff but its a move forward.
