I exercise more, but less time on hair and make-up.

I didn't quit putting effort into my looks until I retired and no longer felt the need to wear makeup. But, it was due to my work environment and position where I felt I had to do that.
Frankly, I felt great when I realized I could be natural.

Ditto here.
I retired in July 2018 and moved the following November. When I moved most of my makeup--along with most of my wardrobe--wound up in a storage cube in Tampa for 6 weeks. I learned to do without just fine. The only thing I still do is have my hair colored. I don't have much gray, but left to its own devices my hair is a very flat unattractive dark brown.
I no longer work, and I'm no longer seeking romantic companionship so there's no one to please but myself.
I still go to the gym and work on fitness/health so I will feel good and have fewer health problems. I work from home all but two days per week. I dress up somewhat on those days, but I am not going to go all out to dress up for sitting in my living room.
