Get a "brightening" face wash and pair it with a serum for under your sunscreen. It adds a few steps, but it works! I had dark spots and doing this type of routine evened me out.
Now I just use brightening serums, since I am even!
It takes daily treatment though, but it'll only add a few more minutes to the day. I like Boots Botanics "All Bright" line. If that is too femme, hopefully someone will chime in with an alternative. But those work great and are easy to find.
You can also use rosehip oil - which helps to even out your tone. And is available as a stand alone product.
You can also check with a med spa they will have treatment options that will be faster than OTC stuff, but you have to decide if you want the expense of peels, laser, etc.
I like color correcting creams/concealer, etc., because I don't usually wear makeup, and they disappear which is nice. green is for redness, and peach or lavender for darkness. I got the NYX brand, at Ulta. you could stop in there and have them help you find one that would work.
Try a toner or face oil serum. I used to have redness on my cheeks and my freckles stood out more than I wanted so I started using Ora's Amazing Herbal face oil serum and it has helped quite a bit.
