I got a women's fashion catalog in the mail today, Serengeti. I went through the catalog, nothing special, lots of flared tunics and simple dresses. Then I came across a top that pictured an East Indian elephant (the ones that are very ornate) overlaid with a Native American Dream Catcher. What!?

It's described as "Alfred Dunner Elephant Dream Catcher Knit Top: Intriguing design depicts a majestic elephant, ornately embellished with crystals."

Just found it on the website:

https://www.serengetifashions.com/it...?T1=WD900+IV+S''

This seems very weird to me. Why would a designer do this?

Alfred Dunner got a bit carried away with his exotic imagery.

The picture is cool, but maybe not on a shirt.

The name Alfred Dunner says it all for me. Our local Penneys is full of that brand. It's no wonder it's closing soon.

I've never heard of Alfred Dunner, but something about this image strikes me as wrong. I don't know what the elephant symbolizes in that culture, but I know about the dream catcher. I'm not a fan of this concoction. So I don't know why a designer would do this!

The graphic designer is an idiot, and probably searched "Indian line art" ... forgetting that there are two very different kinds of Indians.
