I live in a tourist, college, and agricultural area. There's literally 1 restaurant where a jacket is required for dinner. I've never been there.....don't plan on going either. My husband doesn't own a suit or a jacket. He's not interested either. Around here it's perfectly normal for folks to be dressed up in their Ralph Lauren button down shirt and dress pants to be seated next to someone wearing shirts and a t-shirt. No one here cares! I've sat in a 5 star restaurant wearing jeans eating lunch watching the local high school graduation take place on the lake shore. Perfectly normal around here. We're not all uptight.
Don't speak too soon when you say no one cares...you would be surprised.
OK...but not all people who "dress up" are uptight. If that's the way you feel, I can see why you have your "stance" on the subject.
So would you be offended if you were turned away from not honoring the dress code at a particular restaurant?

Nope. I wouldn't be offended. Why would I? If an establishment has a dress code, that's fine. Like I said, there's only one restaurant like that in the whole area. I know this and have never been there. I'm fine with it. I've lived for years without it. The world hasn't come to an end. Somehow we all keep trucking along.

Yes, I think that it might very possibly be related to the locale. I live in the Denver area, and my husband and I have a "big night out" once a year, when we go to the theater or to the symphony after dinner at a VERY nice restaurant (we're talking about a $300 tab or more for two people, including wine), where it is not at all unusual to encounter people of both sexes wearing jeans -- and ditto for our vacations to New England small towns and to the California wine country where people obviously "have money". However, I can't even remember the last time I went to a restaurant where "dressing up" was expected, let alone required. I think it was at least 20 years ago.
Nevertheless, when I spend a lot of money on an expensive dinner out, I will make the effort and wear something nicer than jeans! (But does it bother me to see people at very nice restaurants wearing jeans? No -- although I do admit that I do look askance at someone dining in a somewhat elegant restaurant wearing extremely casual clothing such as frayed shorts and a tank top!)

We live in a elaxed retirement/vacation community. There is on restaurant that used to require a coat Went there once over 20 years ago. Would not even conciser going back. I don't need to impress anyone.
BOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Hiss!!! Someone had to do it.....LOL Enjoy the Thomas Rhett halftime show! That's about all I know about football on Thanksgiving....oh and the Lions play every Thanksgiving.

Just going off the general "defensive tone" of your previous comments. No foul done. It's all good!
Whatever is clean and comfortable. To be decided when I get out of the shower that morning. And I certainly won't concern myself with the brand name nor the specific color name.
Same. I'm enjoying a quiet holiday with my best friend for life who is always dressed in something casual, my pup.
Clothes that I dont mind getting messy. IF I get thanksgiving off, which I most likely won't, I wear clothing I don't mind getting messy. Mostly cause my brother gets messy, then hugs me and sometimes forgets to wash his hands. And I got a baby sister now, so spit up...

One person kept drilling me about my dress. That person was annoying. We all don't live with Queen Elizabeth.
