First I must say I hate that slowly but surely it seems that more and more shopping is being pushed to online only......that said.
I was an Easy Spirit and Aerosoles person.
But now that those stores have closed.....I'm looks for STORES -- other than Payless where I can get large sized, wide width shoes -- that don't cost an arm and a leg.
Clarks, to me, are overpriced.
And SAS comfort shoes prices are ridiculous.
The best place online I've found is Massey's.
Are there any stores where you've found a decent selection of larger sized women's shoes?
Skechers. Look at men's sizes. Walking shoes only - too ugly for work or evenings out. But they are super comfy. I found a Skechers store in the local mall. Later I learned I could order them at a discount from via my physical therapist. Next time, that's what I'll do.
I have shoes from New Balance and Avenue (the plus size clothing store). New Balance are pricey and Avenue shoes aren't very durable. I've owned several pairs of SAS shoes and the sneakers were okay, the sandals made my feet look huge and also made blisters.
Honestly, I usually just order Dansko shoes and Justin boots online, and I buy Okabashi flip flops at Walgreens.
Ross usually has an assortment of 11's but it's really hit or miss.
You can’t expect to get any good wide shoes that are cheap. I have wide feet (bunions) too and I cannot find inexpensive shoes that are comfortable. Really, SAS has the most comfortable shoes for me.
The only cheap shoes I have that are comfortable, and they’re Med, not wide, are Bobs and Toms.
Otherwise, I buy most shoes online.
MY niece wears a size 12 womens and she is 12 she loves nike and wear mainly those either tennis shoes or slide in flip flops (i think thats what there called) but i know she is going to have a hard time when she gets older finding dress shoes etc. we have been successful so far with large box shoe stores like shoestation etc. Good luck!
