Do not need a public announcement, could not get my custom made ring on at church, SO took his off after church, saw a guy loose a finger jumping off a delivery truck, silicon does well in my kitchen.
I don't like how they look. I'd rather wear no jewelry than rubber jewelry. My father was married for 53 years and never wore a wedding ring. Nothing wrong with that.
They're actually amazingly popular. I work in the optical field, and people who use edgers often opt for them to prevent injury to the fingers and rings. I tried going without one when needed but my finger feels weird without my ring. I have a little time before I leave so I might just get a regular band ring. My wife is using the silicone rings anyway, so it's not wasted money
I appreciate all the posters here who answered my original question.
I also appreciate the guys who want to wear wedding bands, even if they are not made of a precious metal. I can see why men and women who work in special fields might prefer these.
