The pulls on the boots in the video would be called "ear pulls", not mule ears, I've seen them from the 1960's worn by hippies of the time. Rare now days.

I've googled "mule ear boots" and a couple of manufacturers and a few styles have come up -- thanks!

(When I just google "ear pulls" I get nothing about boots (without specially searching for 'mule ears pulls.')

They can be called mule ears. But they are stitched to the boot rather than left loose (which is almost never seen now days). And the general term I would use for the loose mule ear is "ear pull", never boot strap.

Thank goodness I found the video, because no matter how I described it as dangling outside the boot -- and looking like "flapped down ears", I guess people couldn't picture it. In the video they're called "rabbit ears" and I guess that wasn't close enough to "pull up" mule ears in the search engine.

I'm just glad I was able to get some definitive info, track down the name and get a lead on a couple of manufacturers that make boots with that feature.
I like that look (dangling loose). I've seen them before, perhaps on Daniel Boone or in an old Western movie or TV show.
Thanks all.
