I have Urban Decay eyeshadow powder that's over 5 years old. I still haven't made a dent in it n I have not had any issues. But I am determine to use them up this year and move on.

But on another note, I did have Maybelline blush that was not even 2 years old that broke me out after it expired. I kept noticing acne in spot my blush would go and realize that's the issue.

I never run out of makeup on time so I keep them until I notice something is off. Always longer than expiration date

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who keeps powder eyeshadow for a long time.

Ummmm. I just discarded my only eyeshadow because I was moving. I bought it to wear for my wedding in 1985.

I did wear some on Halloween a couple of years ago, it was fine.

The expirations are mostly just a ploy to get you to spend more money.
SPF protection degrades around 3 years, as does any preservatives in makeup. After that time, bacteria can grow easily in makeup. Rule of thumb: if the product changes color, consistency, texture, or odor....toss it!

If I really like a color and it was discontinued after I purchased it, I'll keep it for as long as I can.
