So were flowers & daisies on jeans....or beads.... inspired from the 60s or 70s?

I loved the bellbottoms and peasant blouses. And everybody was skinny!

The 80s were much worse because of the hair (both genders). I like the post-hippy and disco looks of the 70s. 80s has no redeeming qualities for me, besides some of the hip hop fashion.

Sounds like the Flower Power 60's influencing the 70's & possibly beyond.

Those 70s pornstaches and hair popping out of everywhere can only be outdone by 2010s tatted bodies and piercings galore.

I haven't thought "ugh" with many things I wore back then because I had clothes I liked that I spent a lot of money on. I had some really nice velvet pants in the 70's plus an expensive black leather biker jacket from the leather warehouse that I paid over $200 for when I was 15. I still have it. It still fits!

I had a hot pink leather bustier dress in 1988; wish I knew what happened to it since I still have all of my leather clothes. Some of it I made myself.

There was actually a controversy about whether women should be “allowed” to wear pants in the workplace.

And designer jeans became a thing. Some people had their jeans dry cleaned, to keep them dark.

A lot happened in the 1970s besides too much facial hair on men, and grubby tee shirts. As always, you had choices. Some stuff was bad. Women in the workplace often had to wear stupid looking suits with shirts and little bows tied around their necks. The drug culture influenced the sloppy hair look. Young girls wore stick straight long hair. But there was a lot going on during that decade that influenced fashion permanently.

I got sort of lost in the 1980s. Most of that fashion was not interesting to me, although I do remember owning a beautiful royal blue suit that I loved.
I was in votech for beauty culture from 81 to 83, we had to wear nurse's white uniforms, mostly available were dresses; the 2nd year I actually found a nurses pants outfit. I hated having to dress like that

I hope I'll be alive when the people today that have face piercings, gauged ears and women that have black Japanese style tattoo's on their arms get older. I see them while I'm out and think those tats are going to look really nasty with aging skin. Thankfully the gauged ears can be fixed but it's not easy to get those black tats removed.

I'm tattooed too. Have a large piece with roses and a preying mantis on my right shoulder, 2 birds on my left, a bull skull on my left hip, Gregg Allman on my left ankle and lilies on my right.

Hi Rose...ita...but IMO...no tattoo ages gracefully & so other than a small one on my wrist & one I plan to get under my breast after I'm married.......I don't have any. That's what I love about fashion & makeup tho..........we can play with any retro fashion from any decade in the past or current trends like grandpa jeans.......or enhance our features any way we want & we aren't altering our bodies permanently......
