Stop all the BS beauty contests. They're disgusting. Women should not be going for the "beauty is your main thing"...and stop holding yourselves out there to be judged. Live your life in what you find interesting and fulfilling as a human being. Don't live your life for what others think of your looks. It's shallow and meaningless and makes you less than.
She looks fine but I think the Miss contests should be for young ladies. Let them have their thing. This woman is a lawyer and journalist, doesn't she have enough going on. lol.

Back in the day, those beauty contests had a lot of viewers. These days, not so much. I think they purposely select "non traditional" beauty contestants to help bring attention and draw viewers to their contests.
Personally, I've never had a problem with beauty contests, aside from some of the child pageants like Jon Benet was involved with, but lots of people take issue with them. Anyone who thinks that we aren't judged for our looks is living in Lalaland and that will happen whether these pageants continue or not.

Totally agree.
I remember watching the Miss America pageant with my dad, picking which women we wanted to win. Meanwhile, my mother was fuming in the kitchen, slamming cabinet doors and pots and pans.

lol. I remember it as a family event, trying to pick the winner and if your state was in the running it was a very big deal. We would talk about it the next day at school and argue who should have won. It was kind of a big deal.
