I think the skinny jean style is probably one style that looks good one some people but horrible on others. When I've tried on skinny jeans, they made me look misproportioned and awkward.

It's a good thing that people recognize that some trends work on them and some don't. Some women look great in skinny jeans, and some people, like myself, look ridiculous in them. Some people can't wear the drapy ruffled tops that are in right now, and some can. You try stuff on and figure out what you can wear with style and what you can't.

Love that model's outfit in the 70s bootcut denim.

The current denim styles are flare, wide legged & skinny. Boot cut has not been "in" in at least 5 years making it an out of style cut of denim. I personally would not be caught dead in boot cut & predict they will be out of style a good long time, hopefully the rest of my life.

I live in horse country. See them all the time. Out in public! I own three or four pairs myself to wear over my, gasp, boots! (Not going into somebody's barn in skinny jeans and flip flops.)

LOL. Come on, don't you want to step in some horse apples while wearing flip flops?

I like boot cuts. They flatter me. I don't care if they're in or out, but if they're out ... well, that's curious because they're still for sale all over the place.

Much better to wear something that flatters your bodytype and/or is appropriate for the task at hand. That is always more fashionable than wearing something "in" but unflattering or ridiculous for the occasion. There are plenty of "in" things I won't wear because they don't look good on me. I wish more people did....

Weird, because I see people wearing boot cut jeans all the time, and I live in a rather wealthy California beach area where most trends tend to start...

I doubt anyone cares what the "fashion" is. I wear whatever I want, regardless of what other people are wearing and what's "in fashion" at the time. You'd be self concious if you care about what other people think about what you're wearing. I'm a guy so I guess it is different with girls...

Not in fashion? No way, I love boot cut jeans. I've been wearing em pretty much nonstop since middle school. They're still hip where I am, and they look great on me so I don't care if they do "go out", I'm keeping em forever lol.
