I am keeping an eye out on the real estate in Bentonville because of a possible relocation. I am noticing that there are many houses that seem to back up to almost a forest of trees. Can some of those be taken out to create a backyard with usable space?

as long as it's on your property it should be ok but you might need to check with any home owners association.

Are there typically homeowner associations? I like the neighborhoods around Stonehenge and Harvard Walk.

Yes, many of the sub divisions, especially the upper scale ones do have POA or HOAs. Normally, trees on your property can be cut down, but much of the forest land you are seeing in pictures are not on anyone's property.

Strongly suggest contacting HOA/POA. Removal of a tree in my own yard requires a majority (50%) vote in favor. Removal of a tree in our common area is 67%.

great idea. Here we have a lot of restrictions, but that isn't one of them. We have had a couple removed that were old and split and one not long ago that was termte infested.
