It's expected to bring at least $80 million dollars and could well go for a price as high $150 million and become the most expensive painting ever sold. This "Scream" is the only rendition that is still held in private hands.

Edvard Munch's 'The Scream' Could Set an Auction Record | NewsFeed | TIME.com

I am curious if others think this painting could fetch $150 million and become the most expensive ever. A Vemeer I could understand but not this painting IMHO.

Addendum:

After pondering this for awhile I realized "The Scream" is probably one of the most famous paintings of the 20th century having been replicated on everything from notepads, mugs, tee shirts et al. I am in no way disparaging this work as Munch perfectly captured the the human emotions of frustration and anxiety which many people can relate to. It will be interesting to see how much this painting ultimately sells for.
