"The Scream" (1893) - Edvard Munch

Have always been fascinated/fearful of this painting, ever since viewing it at my local museum when I was 10.

Interesting tidbit, Picasso held Rousseau in very high regard.

It was bought by Glasgow City Council in 1952 for the controversial sum of £8,200 (about $15,500). Last year it was voted by a very large margin as Glasgow's favourite painting. (don't tell anyone but I voted twice !!!)
It is impossible to pick one, but there is a Dali museum in St. Petersburg, Florida, and it is easy to become a fan of his work.

The Scream is a very recognizable piece by Munch but I do like the stark contrast of the lithograph:

My favorite E. Munch painting is "Love and Pain," 1893-1894 and I prefer this title rather than
the other - "Vampire." There is a honest and raw moment of desperation and tenderness
in this painting.

It was really bad weather today so I popped in to Kelvingrove art gallery and had a look at it again-absolutely amazing.

The Spanish government were said to have offered Glasgow about $104 million for the painting but it was refused.
