As the title says, I've just switched off my AC and turned my new swamp cooler on.

What should I be setting in at during the night? Vent, or low?

Because it gets damp at night I switched it to vent. Then it got too cold so I turned it off. This am at 9:30 I still have it on vent as it's quite cool outside still....will put on low or high cool as it warms up (not sure what temp. to do that at!

I like it!

I don't run either my AC or my swamp cooler at night. I only ran the AC one night all summer because it felt stifling in my bedroom but usually the ceiling fan keeps it nice and 'chill'. I'm happy that this time of year I need very little cooling assistance. During the day, especially if I'm home all day, I just open both the front and back doors so any breezes will just 'float' on through. Very nice!

Thanks I figured that out...my swamp cooler is running during the day but freezes me out at night so I turn it off. In the summer I do leave my AC on round the clock but it stops late at night as it cools off. My bedroom faces east and it gets hot quickly in the am so sometimes it starts up again. This summer I found myself hot even with the AC on during some of the days.
