Hi folks. I am so happy I found this site again. I used it for my friend and I's trips to Glacier National Park and the information I got was so very helpful.
We will be coming in on the Southwest Chief train to Flagstaff the middle or later Sept ( a yr from now ), we are early planners!! We want to stay close to the station since we get in at 8:30 pm and will pick-up a rental car to get a early start the next morning for the Grand Canyon. We want a clean, reasonable place to stay (if there is such a thing) close to both the station and a rental car place in Flagstaff.
Then we will be staying at Williams or another town on the way to the Canyon for 2 nights since we will have the rental car, then back to Flagstaff to catch the train again. I saw on a map there is a highway 64 going north from Williams to the Canyon and wondered if anyone knew of motels along that route.
Any help there will be appriciated for all my questions.

In flagstaff, maybe the
Motel Dubeau ? On 64 N of Williams I think the only place is the Red Lake Hostel, and maybe a hotel or two in Valle. Everything else is in Williams or Tusayan (right outside the GC).

I will check out your info. It is hard to get places in between Williams and the Canyon that are not way above our budget. But we will find something I am sure since this will be for a yr well in advance.
