We'd like to go camping in flagstaff labor day weekend... In my search i noticed that most of the campsites are first come first serve. I'm referring to the morman lake area specifically. Does anyone know if we just drive up there to find a spot...if we will actually find one (on this weekend)?? I want to make reservations but seems they are all booked (this was a last minute plan). I'm afraid to get up there and find nothing at the six campsites??

Tks for any input..

If you want a campsite, you have to get there early, don't expect to show up at 4pm and find a spot.

I looked on the Coconino Forest website, and there appears to be more than just 6 campsites.

Do you really need a campground or can you dry camp ?

If you exit on # 320 Schnebly Rd. head east toward Morman Lake
you'll find ton's of places

Stay home. It's going to be a dreary, rainy weekend due to tropical storm.
