Gov. Rick Scott's attorney has told the Florida Supreme Court that he was wrong about the money already spent on the state's high-speed rail project while defending the governor's right to kill it.

I find this completely disgusting.

He made an "error" and "sincerely regrets" it.

What he did was influence the court to agree with his side by saying that FL had only spent a very small amount of money on the rail project to date, when in fact, almost ALL of the money allocated by lawmakers had already been spent. BIG difference.

Now we see how this administration is going to conduct itself.

Lie and then issue some weak apology if you get caught.

Sandy D'Alemberte is going to kick his ***.

The last appeal was handled for some odd reason by an attorney who was just awful. Now that Sandy is heading up the charge, Scott better sit up and pay attention.

Because Sandy is a badass.

I don't understand how the difference in figures quoted by the attorney has any bearing on the actual question which was did the governor overstep his executive authority. Although the error was Trippe's, it sounds like the court may have rushed their decision. Personally, I hope Altman reopens the case so we have a clear answer on the gov's authority.
