Hello all!
New here and have been researching for months trying to decide where in FL we want to relocate to.
We have narrowed it down to 2 areas . . .
Destin/FWB area which we just love (but are slightly concerned about winter temps as cold negatively impacts a chronic health condition hence our escape from up north) and
St Pete Beach area (Pinellas County area) which, of course, would be warmer in winter.
We are visiting St Pete area in a few months to see what we think in relation to the Destin/FWB area which we have visited multiple times.
We are from the "North Coast"
. . . of Ohio that is! (cold 24/7 and snow) and basically just run of the mill everyday people.
We do have middle school age children so that is a consideration. Job wise I am a nurse and hubby is retired so that is somewhat flexible.
We would love input, etc. from others who live there and know these areas! We just cannot decide!

The rough part of winter in the panhandle usually ends up being about two weeks where the daytime high struggles to hit 50F and we might get briefly under freezing at night. I'd likely give the edge to FWB in the schools category.
