In 2006, 10,942 Americans went to Canada, compared with 9,262 in 2005 and 5,828 in 2000, according to a survey by the Association for Canadian Studies.

Of course, those numbers are still outweighed by the number of Canadians going the other way. Yet, that imbalance is shrinking. Last year, 23,913 Canadians moved to the United States, a significant decrease from 29,930 in 2005.

Are all the boomers thinking of moving north?

Let's see...Canada...universal health care & no Bush administration...sounds good to me.

Sometimes after watching the news here I tell my husband we should move to Quebec, Canada- beautiful, historical, & peaceful. Then there is also Banff on the other side which is unbelieveably amazing.

People go to different countries for all different reasons. It's not indicative of what the rest of the people are thinking. If you don't like it here then go... if they don't like it there then they move...

Remember that a lot of people on visas have been foreced out of the country after 911. One Pakistani neighbor who had lived in the Ft Lauderdale area for at least a dozen years was told to get out of the country. He and his family went to Canada.

Plus Canadians are really nice and Canada is a very clean and pleasant country. If it were a little further south, I'd move there
