Seriously... would you want to live in Florida if the state did not have palm trees at all? Everything else would be the same, as well as the climate, but just no palm trees.

Well, the fact is we DO have palm trees, lots of them in fact, so we don't really have to choose. What is the point of this question?

Yeah, I'd live here. Do people really base their lives around pretty foliage and trees?

Not sure it'd make a difference to many Floridians. In most non coastal areas north of Tampa palm trees aren't that plentiful anyways. Have you ever noticed the drive on I75 is almost entirely pine scrubs and oak forest? Most of the palm trees here in Orlando have been planted by people. The natural greenery is more oaks, pine and other hardwood trees. In places like Tallahassee you don't see many at all, save for some palmettos. I've never even thought about it until I read this thread so no it would not stop me from living here in any way. It's like asking if I would move away if there were no flamingos, pelicans and manatees. Yes Florida is known for them but the reality is most us rarely ever see them in our daily lives.

Hell no. For all the heat and humidity and insects and snakes we constantly have to deal with, Florida had better have some natural beauty to stare at like palm trees or else I wouldn't live there. It would never be the same! Palm trees are apart of the landscape of Florida! They are something that I have grown up with and learned to appreciate later in life because of their beauty and uniqueness. They grow near the sea and it's so beautiful and matches it exactly. Every region of the world has it's own beauty. Ocean coasts have palm trees. And I love it. Every time I come back to Florida, I am always amazed and gazing at the palm trees and beautiful green plants and grass. Especially the ones near the beach. How the ocean waves come in and go out while the palm trees are being blown by the wind. There is nothing more beautiful to me. And I love seeing that and being surrounded by it all. Florida would not be the same without it. Honestly, I am shocked at the results of this poll. I thought for sure most would say no. Maybe I'm superficial enough to not live in FL if there wasn't any palm trees but honestly there is too much crap to deal with over there for Florida not to have some kind of natural beauty to counter all the other issues and make you want to stay. Palm trees are one of them for me.

I guess that would be a yes for me. Maybe it's just me but I love being surrounded in that type of beauty. That's apart of what makes a city or area great to me. There's nothing better.

I have to say the Palm Trees are redeeming.

Not top priority, but take brownie points where you can get them.

I'm not sure I understand the purpose behind this question...it's not like the palm trees are going anywhere.
