Hey there, my girlfriend is currently deciding between two job offers, one in Marianna, one in Brooksville. We currently live in the Tampa area and were wondering if anyone can help us compare these towns to each other. I bartend and have done some construction and warehouse work but have plenty of money saved up so finding a job isn't a short-term priority for me. And yes, we are aware both towns are very rural and "southern", thanks for the help!

Well, Marianna is practically Georgia and a very tiny town. I can't tell you much else about that one. Brooksville is still an easy drive to Tampa, if that is a factor for you at all. Brooksville itself does not have a lot to it, small and rural feeling, but as I said, an easy drive to Tampa. If I were choosing I would choose Brooksville to still be convenient to Tampa. But of course, it's really up to you.

You need to specify when you refer to Brooksville, as a vast majority of Hernando County is referred to as Brooksville. I am 2 miles north of State Road 50, west of US 19 and the post office considers this Brooksville though most use the Weeki Wachee mailing address.

Either way I would go Brooksville over Marianna, there is more to do, plenty of shopping, restaurants all close by
