What would you do if you were carrying but 3 or 4 thugs who all had their own guns tried to rob you?

How do you make sure bad people know you're holding when you're in the streets?

How do you protect your house if, again, a number of people home invaded you?

And even if you are in what you consider a life and death situation and have to shoot someone, you get turned into a pariah that'll have to fear for your life like George Zimmerman.

These are the things I have never understood about carrying a gun. It won't really help as much unless it's a 1 on 1 anyway? How would you deal with situations like these?

George Zimmerman was a cop wannabe who was looking for trouble and found it. He shot an unarmed kid who he instigated a confrontation with, your other questions are useless when you sully it with this poor example. I would be fine if he had to spend the rest of his life in jail.

OK. What would you have done if you were the dead victim in this situation...

I suppose in this scenario with 3-4 armed thugs pointing guns at you it seems you got 2 choices, give em what they want or go for your gun and die.

In the situation you describe you do what you have to do which is turn over your possessions. And no, you cant shoot them while they are leaving the scene of the crime. SYG wont help you there.
Think about it. If you were a police officer in the same situation. What would you do?

In my house. I keep a 12 gauge Mossberg 500 behind the bedroom door. It is loaded with a variety of buck shot and slugs. Before you get into my house I am going to know you are there and I will be waiting for the grand entry and their immediate demise.

But it seems like half the time they either shoot you before you have a chance to give up your money, or they kill you after you give up your stuff because if you`re dead there are no witnesses. It would be easier for you to win if they attck your house cus you know your house more than they do but even that would be tough. but on the streets if 2 or 3 people with guns approach you you`re pretty much finished unless they decide not to shoot.

I loved your post......but you are putting your family and neighbors at risk if you use slugs and buck shot......for both will easily go through your interior walls and possibly hit a family member hiding on the other side...even worse...the 12 Guage slug might go through your front door and strike one of your neighbors...then what......

The #6 shot instead will not go through both sides of a sheet rocked wall in the event that you miss...but it will still do exactly what you want it to......"Stop the A-Hole(s)" that are evading your home......

By the way...I have experimented with all three and after shooting all 3 loads the #6 shot is the only way to go...I use a Pump 410 Guage with 6 shot available for use...my wife can also handle it without the fear of pulling the trigger...so it basically makes the all purpose self defense weapon...

Good luck...and hopefully you never have to use your weapon to defend your home...

I wouldnt go as far as 1/2 the time, but yes, ALOT of times the criminal will shoot the victim just for the hell of it. I see it prevalent in hold ups. Stores. They get the money and then shoot the clerk. Whats with that? Same thing on the street. You got the ipod, etc and you could mosey away but decide it would be cool to blast a cap or two.

Sure, at home you have the upper hand. Its dark, the alarm is blasting away, the phone is ringing because the alarm company wants to verify, cops are coming, wife is screaming, kids are crying, its a stressful time.

Thanks for the tips Rusty. I will research the idea of #6 and try them out at the range.

I don't foresee using more than 2 shots to qwell any situation inside the home.

We've had a firearm on hand since the 80s in NYC when I kept a .22 Ruger in the closet and thankfully never had the need to put either to use except at the ranges.

I think I'd rather help a home invader out to his car with my Xbox and VCR than blow his head off in my living room in front of my wife and kids. And I own a gun.
