The temperatures after the forecast detail (i.e. Mostly cloudy, Increasing clouds, etc.) are the averages for the day and location I specified in bold. Averages do no justice here in Florida because sometime it's much colder, and much hotter, in a sense which is also how we get averages.

Dont get the idea that it's always like this but typically the weather and temps are in that general area (Give or take 5 or 10 degrees sometime).

The temperatures after the date indicate the forecast for those dates and locations in bold. As you can see the areas are pretty much on par with averages for that time of December. Things can always change temperature and precipitation wise but not drastically.

Be sure to review the week's forecast before you leave - the weather that time of year can vary from light jacket needed during the day to heavier jacket or coat needed during the evening. It's not unusual for the temperatures to dip into the 30's at night/morning.

Boy, you are so right! I arrived in Destin a week ago and one day the temperature didn't even reach 50 and dipped down to 35 at night. It's starting to warm up a bit, however. Looking at a forecast can be a little misleading, although it's the best guide we have. For example, it was supposed to reach a high of 59 today. That means somewhere in the area at the hottest time of the day (usually around 1pm) it might or might not reach 59 degrees. I have a thermometer on the lanai and the current reading at 2:24 CST is 54. (same as Pensacola) The sun is supposed to come out tomorrow. Now I am going to stop typing and sing the theme song from "Annie."

Folks don't realize that the Florida Panhandle is really about the same weather as South Alabama/Georgia. We moved to Destin about 1.5 year ago from East Central Coast (Melbourne) ... and have also been visiting Destin for several years (kids/grandkids). On average, the Panhandle temperature is 10-20 degrees cooler here. Last year Destin really didn't have much cool weather. This year, I haven't seen snow or an Arctic fox yet, but, it's COLD! (However, anything in Florida below 50-degrees (given the humidity factor) ... seems cold to me! We're heading to the Bahamas next week ... where it is still summer (in the high 70's/low 80's).

Thurs 1/10 - Destin FL - temp 68 F, 90% humidity, dew point 65. Winds about 10 mph. Nice!

Much warmer than when I last posted only 4 days ago! Just waiting for the elusive sun to appear.
