If you're looking for land, you'll have to limit your search to the northern part of the state--pretty much anywhere west of Duval County (Jacksonville) and Alachua County (Gainesville) all the way out to Escambia County (Pensacola).

If you don't want to live that far north in the state, then there are quite a few inland areas south of the Lakeland-Winter Haven area that could work.

Frankly, if you're moving to Florida for the warm winter weather, moving someplace north of Orlando kinda defeats the purpose of moving to Florida, IMO, so I would stick to inland areas further south in the state if I were you.

FWIW, areas like Sebring-Avon Park and Lake Placid aren't all that bad compared to inland areas in the northern part of the state, and at least they're warm in the wintertime.

I haven't been to that area much and the only place that comes to mind is Chipley. It's about 50 miles north of Panama City.
