We are looking to move down to Florida in the next 12-15 months.. We will be going down there sometime next year for 1-2 weeks to check out where to rent/buy.. Any suggestions on which city to move near.. We are both in our late 50's and still would like to work for a few more years before fully retiring.. My wife has been a medical secretary for over 25 years and I have been in light warehouse industry for over 10 years.. Any suggestions on where the jobs are would be welcome..Would like to stay in either northern or central Florida

you have to be very careful, especially if moving down here and not really knowing much about the state. do you know or have a good idea of where you may want to be, specifically? ppl from NY move down here all the time and without knowing what the draw id for you to come down here, its hard to make any suggestions.

Port Orange (e coast not far from Daytona Beach) is a nice area, reminds me a bit of upstate NY (minus the snow, lol), check out New Smyrna Beach and Ormond Beach too. Heard good things about Jacksonville too and a lot of ppl seem to like the w coast so really, the sky's the limit, it would prob. depend mostly on the job situation(s)

Lakeland is mostly farm and places I wouldn't want to live personally (I lived there before)

For the Tampa area, shoot for Dunedin, Palm Harbor or Safety Harbor area

I like Some parts of Riverview too.

If you like quiet settings, stay away from Tampa and Clearwater
