Has anyone noticed that when a poster writes about thier immediate area they call it "Florida"

For instance a poster recently stated "in Joliet a a city outside of Chicago never had power go out because they put there power lines under the ground un like Florida"

Where I live the power, cable and telephone lines are underground and have been since the area was first developed in the late 60's. My brother lives in a subdivision in S. Fl and everything there is underground.
I see lots of places where the utilities are underground.

I why some people paint the whole state the same color when actually it's a rainbow. These blanket statements usually come from people who have never ventured more than 25 miles frrm thier abode.

Have you noticed this and if so, what is your thoughts about i?

Well there is a big difference between a city having utilities under ground and a sub division. My subdivision is under ground but is fed from over land lines so the fact the line to my house is underground died little to counter the guys actual point.
