My husband and I are looking to move to Florida, but we were hoping to get some guidance from people who live in Florida on which cities are recommended. The economy and jobs are of course important to us. I currently work as a doctor's assistant but am going to school for a business degree with a specialization in human resources. My husband works as a superintendent for a commercial general contractor. We will be starting a family in 1-2 years and so one of our concerns is the schools and crime levels. We do have some concerns of areas with increased hurricane activity as well. The preferred home value would be around $200,000 or lower, may consider slightly higher for the right area. Some examples I have pulled from various websites are Winter Springs, Longwood, North Port or Venice. Of course we're open to any other recommendations and appreciate any feedback and help! If considering remaining in the contracting business, start on the licensing NOW. Florida licensing is a real PITA, can cost thousands and a lot of time.
