Assuming the nicer parts of each metro area, in terms of quality of life, opportunities, culture, resources, and things of that nature... Which do you recommend and what are some of its advantages?

Do you really think that you're going to get people to write essays without any idea of who is looking and what they are looking for? Culture means different things to different people and what you consider necessary quality of life components may be of no importance to me. You expect people to do all the work yet you won't even say what your needs and wants are?

You could write a 20 page report to this question, not worth my time, but I will say I chose Orlando out of all the cities in Florida and am very happy. My second choice would be... Boca Raton / Fort Lauderdale / Miami

Jax - more southern culture than the other 2 since it's close to Georgia. Less traffic, smaller population, more laid back, still more affordable than Orlando.

Orlando - Lots of traffic and congestion, good restaurant and bar scene, plenty of things to do with the theme parks and I-Drive area being in our backyard. Crazy, aggressive drivers. Nice people in some of the quieter suburbs. Rude and cold people in the rest of the city. Still affordable compared to Miami or San Fran (obviously) but home prices getting to be out of range for incomes in the area.

Tampa Bay - Don't know enough about it to make an informed opinion. I do like going to Busch Gardens though!

Orlando would be my last choice. It is the most crowded, most touristy, and most crime.

Same here about long-winded report, but I take Tampa then Jax and lastly Orlando. I like having NFL, MLB, NHL. I like the concerts and other cultural stuff offered. Beautiful beaches. Top notch airport. Love the Gulf over the Atlantic.

Agree. Don't ever feel comfortable there. Some places in JAX, I also feel the higher crime threat.

Agree... Except replace Miami with Coral Springs. Not a fan of Miami itself.

Depends on where you go.
Sure, parts of Orlando are pretty crime-ridden (Parramore, Pine Hills, etc.) But other parts are extremely nice and safe, including virtually all of Seminole County.

I don't find issues with the tourists, as I only venture out to the I-Drive/Universal/Disney area on occasion. Even then, I don't mind them. Adds to the experience of going out to experience those places.

Sums it up nicely.
I'd say Tampa has a bit of an Orlando feel, but with less crowds and a heavier water-sports culture. It is also much older, which some would associate with "culture." St-Pete (downtown area) is one of my favorites in the state.
