Let’s not mislead people. It’s not a few months. It’s from now until October. That’s six months. Minimum.

I don't know why people always use the weather to argue whether or not a place is good to live. I'm a former 15-year FL resident. I moved back to the chilly Midwest because, yes, I couldn't bear the oppressive heat and humidity but surprised I was able to last 15 years in it. I dealt with it because I had a good job in FL and raised my kids down there, but now that the kids are grown and out of the house we had the flexibility of moving back north. People thought we were crazy, but just the same way john-staten said if people can handle a few months of heat & humidity, you can say the same thing if people can handle a few months of ice & snow (and it's not really snow, it's the cold, there's a difference because it can snow a lot but be comfortably warmer than extreme cold). So what i highlighted in red is a false assumption. If people can't handle a few months of heat & humidity, maybe they prefer the cold as an alternative. And sinatra is correct, there's more months of heat and humidity in FL than just a "few", just like there's more months of cold in the north, and it just snowed yesterday being mid-April already, but it didn't bother me because I know it's going to be in the 50's midweek and will only get warmer from here out. So basically it's what weather you're willing to deal with, warmer is not necessarily better just like cold is not necessarily better for others.

Even in the winter it is hot! Look at the last few winters. They were all hot almost constantly. It's gotten almost up to 90 many times in Nov -Feb. Evening and mornings can be chilly but by noon it gets warm again. All the cool days are spaced far apart and there have been very few cold days. It's lame!!!

The land along South FL and many coastal areas aren't meant to be lived on. They all used to be wetlands that's why they are flat and flood easily.

I love the year around warmth, access to beaches, theme parks etc.

I would not raise a family here myself. Thank goodness they were raised in a state that was not filled with so many aggressive people who cannot speak much English at all. In America it should be required to be able to read, write and speak English. Here you are lucky in a day to even go through McDonalds and speak with a person who can speak clear English.

I will take the awesome year around heat with so much to do.

For those who came here and dislike the heat I am sure you knew it was year around warm before you came here. We did and love everyday its 80 or above.

So South East Florida in the Spring is miserable? Huh ..Seems lovely to me by the ocean..70 degrees tonight..84 & sunny Thursday...Do you actually live here? Yep, hot and humid in the summer, sun is searing year around.....Wonder how they survive in South America...the Caribbean, Bahamas..must be awful..,Folks who whine about Florida heat are the same type who complain about snow & cold in Buffalo...It is what it is...

I agree. I am a native and love it here. Live in Sarasota two blocks from the Bay, and weather has been just gorgeous. For me, it doesn't get uncomfortable until late June. June through Sept. are the hottest/muggiest months, but even that is broken up by rain and thunderstorms. I will take this weather ANY DAY over anything other states north of here have to offer. I am sure I am not alone in my feelings, obviously.

I think we here in Illinois lead the nation in state exodus. And Florida is one place I've always wanted to relocate to. My wife, not so much anymore. Either there or Tennessee. Too early yet but we'll see what the future holds. I have relatives in Palm Harbor who relocated years ago and absolutely love it. It's almost May and we had 5" of snow a week ago here in Chicago. It's straws like that which break the proverbial camel's back. Although Chicago is beautiful and has the best pizza (and food) anywhere, the winters suck and I can't wait to leave. I'd prefer the humidity of Florida to that of Chicago. Argue all you want, I've kept my eye on the weather at both places on hot summer days and we've had hotter/more humid days than the Tampa area on MANY occasions in July and August. Not constant mind you, but If I can deal with our weather, I can deal with yours. The storms, well, that's a different story. You win :-)
