AhHah, TransplantedFloridian, MrViking, Thanks for my morning smile! Well, we visited the three places last week (after getting lost a few times in spite of directions), but found that the apartment in Brandon was our favorite, as well as the area. So surprised by the new stores, developments and interesting restaurants. Traffic was more tame than we found it in Palm Harbor. The Brandon area was serene. Downtown Tampa was beautiful and as for beaches, just a hour's drive away. Thanks for your input. I truly appreciate it.

Brandon is a good choice. Central location. You'll have to go to the Strawberry Festival next spring in neighboring Plant City. It's one of the top fairs in the entire country.

Shell's - of my favorite seafood restaurants, has a Brandon location.

I imagine almost anywhere is "worthy of moving to" if you're from Ohio.

Drive thru Brandon yesterday. 1115AM and SR60 was bumper to bumper. Took me 35 minutes to get from the DOT station just east of Brandon to 301.

Which is why I live in WEST brandon and live within walking distance of everything that's needed. Plus I am near all the major roads when needing to get to anywhere fast. I drove over to st pete airport this morning in about 40 minutes. People that live in the surrounding burbs of brandon need to drive west through brandon to get to these major roads so they can get to work. I rarely take SR60 but every evening I see lumsden backing up starting at kings when it goes from 4 lanes down to 1 going east. Glad I don't live down that way.

that stretch of road is one of the least attractive strips in the area ----big eyesore - plaza after plaza, crappy eyesore businesses....never understood how that area got so bad. Now they're doing the same on Big Bend road.

If one lives in florida very long, the first thing you will realize is that roads and infrastructure are 20 yrs behind. So pick any popular place to live and I will show you traffic problems.

yes and no really, I have found Manatee County Public Works FAR more proactive in anticipated traffic management and road construction. Sarasota County not so much - they like to waste money on installing "islands", pavered traffic circles planted with expensive shrubs/trees, installing bike lanes when nonw are needed, eliminating turn lanes etc.
