A little over 17,000 during the third week of August 2021, and that was with between 1/4 and 1/3 the number of the daily cases that are currently being reported with the Omicron variant (15-25k/day/Delta [August 2021] vs 50-75k/day/Omicron [January 2022]).

About 3-4 weeks ago I wrote, in another Florida forum thread I believe, that the current surge in reported cases will start to subside some time around January 7th as vacations end, students return to school, other people return to work, and incoming snowbirds settle in for the winter.

It seems to be happening that way, hopefully the trend over the past two reporting days will continue and we’ll get back to a lull like in the September-November period.

All the best!

What's happening in Florida, exactly? I go there often and things seem perfectly normal to me other than the random weirdos hiding their faces.

Do you have evidence that a "lockdown" would have any effect on virus transmission?

Have lockdowns elsewhere proven effective?
